Refund policy
Modern Rugs & Furniture offers a generous 14-day return policy on items purchased online. After 14 days from the date of purchase, we are unable to offer a refund or exchange.
We follow a strict quality assurance process to ensure all items are in perfect condition before dispatch. To be eligible for a return, items must be unused and returned in their original packaging.
For all returns, your original receipt is required. This is emailed to you at the time of purchase.
Returns Due to Our Error
If a return is requested due to an error by Modern Rugs & Furniture, we will issue a call tag or arrange alternative return methods. A full credit will be issued for the returned item and associated freight costs once the item has been received at our warehouse.
Errors include, but are not limited to:

Cancelled order prior to dispatch
Partial Refunds
Partial refunds may be issued in the following cases:

Item is not returned in its original condition

Item has damaged or missing parts not due to our error
Return Shipping
To return your item, it must be sent to our warehouse in Brisbane. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Shipping fees are non-refundable, and if a refund is approved, return shipping costs will be deducted from the refund amount.
Delivery times for exchanged items may vary depending on your location.
If you are returning an item valued over $75, we recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We cannot guarantee receipt of returned items without tracking.
Refunds (If Applicable)
Once your returned item is received at our warehouse, please allow 1–2 business days for inspection. You will then receive an email confirming whether your return has been approved.
If approved, the refund will be processed to your original payment method within 2 business days.
Late or Missing Refunds
If you have not yet received your refund:

Sale Items
Only regular-priced items are eligible for refunds. Unfortunately, sale items cannot be refunded, so please ensure you are completely satisfied before purchasing discounted items.
Exchanges
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange an item for the same product, please email us at support@modernrugsfurniture.com.au
In-Store Purchases
Items purchased in-store at any Modern Rugs & Furniture location are not eligible for refunds.
In-store purchases are subject to a 3-day exchange policy in cases where the item is:

Damaged

Incorrect in size or colour

Not matching the original product ordered
Items must be unused and returned in original condition. Exchange terms can be discussed at the time of purchase.
Gifts
If an item was marked as a gift and shipped directly to you, you will receive a gift credit for the value of the returned item once it has been received. A gift certificate will then be issued to you.
If the item was not marked as a gift, or the order was shipped to the purchaser first, the refund will be issued to the original purchaser.
Payment Methods
We accept payments via PayPal and Shopify. All payment transactions are securely processed using SHA-256 SSL encryption. Your payment details are securely handled by the payment provider, and we do not have access to your sensitive information.
